MalhelaWiki - Packs Magic

Packs Magic is an obscure Pac-Man clone developed by the German company Magnussoft Deutschland GmbH[1] in Germany in 2001/2[2], and released in the UK in 2005[3].

Very little information exists regarding this game, which is interesting given that Magnussoft Deutschland GmbH is not necessarily a relatively unknown company, with their other games (both "originals" and other Pac-Man clones) having far more information.

Here is gameplay footage:

There also does exist a German release copy of the game, as evident by this front cover and product page.[4] Interestingly, the back cover of this game says ©2001 Magnussoft which indicates the game was released in 2001 (or very early 2002) in Germany. Despite this, Magnussosft own website claims Packs Magic was released in 2005, even though archived pages of their website shows details as early as 2002 [2].

Supposedly, there also exists a Chinese release of this game. By digging around the Magnussoft website using the Wayback Machine, there was an annoucement that various of their products, including Packs Magic, is avaliable in China.[5] For this reason, I've included a screenshot (and the image of the Chinese copy itself).

If you click on the annoucement, you will have been redirected to a Chinese news site[6] where it reads "26/07/2002 联志软件正式成为德国Magnussoft公司亚洲地区总代理" or in English " 26/07/2002 Lianzhi Software officially becomes the general agent of Magnussoft Germany in Asia", unfortuantely the article itself has not been archived, and little information exists of this Lianzhi Software company at least on the English side of the internet. It's not clear whether an actual Chinese release materialised. However, Lianzhi Software is (was?) a real company, as evidenced by their own original games such as their first game, 百花物语 (Hundred Flowers Story)[7].
